I Love Being a Mom but...

I love having some "me" time.

With spring soccer just around the corner, I had a soccer clinic I had to go to for a couple hours today so Chad said he and the boys were going to go visit his parents... like gone ALL DAY LONG... like from 8 am to 8 pm... GONE.

I tried to play it real cool when he told me, but guys, I was literally jumping up and down inside.  Does that make me bad?  Eek, I love my fellas but man, a quiet, clean house all day with just my dogs.  AHHHHH!!!

Not trying to make any other moms jealous here but let me tell you about my perfect day.  I watched something on Netflix while drinking my coffee (this happens everyday but I normally have to get up a handful of times to fix whatever Bennett needs help with) from 8:00- 8:45.  I then cleaned/ organized/ did laundry in the house from 9:00- 11:30.  Next was the soccer clinic where I actually got to play soccer with... not kids from 12:00 - 1:45.  Went to Chick-fil-A (without the playplace), Target (without looking at one single toy) and Lowes (without having to stop to let a 3 year old ride on every single tractor in the store) from 2:00- 3:45. Cam home and starting painting what will hopefully eventually be flooring for outside (more on that later) from 3:45- 4:45.  Ate ice cream for dinner while watching Fuller House on Netflix (was it always so corny?).  Lastly, I just finished playing the piano for a bit without the Wii sound effects in the background.  And now, I sent reminiscing about it all.

I feel very relaxed... but goodness gracious, I sure do miss those boys.  When they are not here, it is really like a part of me is not here.

Since I am talking about a great day, I feel like I need to mention last Saturday/ weekend as well.  The boys and I (do Chad and I ever do anything together?!?!) went to my parents last weekend since Chad had a strength meet.  We had such a fun weekend just hanging out, we caught most of a Clemson baseball game and I loved it.  Hopefully spring soccer will allow us to escape to Clemson again to watch another one.
Even though we were outside the gate, the Tiger made a pit stop.  Why oh why does Shepherd do this in pictures?  I thought he had stopped this face!
For those in the Clemson area, Clemson baseball games are a lot of fun and if you wait until the top of the 5th, you get in for free.  Perfect amount of time for my boys to sit and watch.
While waiting on the 5th inning... getting some energy out by rolling down the hill
Selfie with adults and Beez.
So, thank you mom and dad for feeding us and loving on us last weekend.  Thank you to my in-laws for taking care of all my boys today.  And thanks Chad for coming up with one of your better ideas and giving me a free Saturday!

Now, hurry home!
