I Love Being a Mom but...

I love having some "me" time.

With spring soccer just around the corner, I had a soccer clinic I had to go to for a couple hours today so Chad said he and the boys were going to go visit his parents... like gone ALL DAY LONG... like from 8 am to 8 pm... GONE.

I tried to play it real cool when he told me, but guys, I was literally jumping up and down inside.  Does that make me bad?  Eek, I love my fellas but man, a quiet, clean house all day with just my dogs.  AHHHHH!!!

Not trying to make any other moms jealous here but let me tell you about my perfect day.  I watched something on Netflix while drinking my coffee (this happens everyday but I normally have to get up a handful of times to fix whatever Bennett needs help with) from 8:00- 8:45.  I then cleaned/ organized/ did laundry in the house from 9:00- 11:30.  Next was the soccer clinic where I actually got to play soccer with... not kids from 12:00 - 1:45.  Went to Chick-fil-A (without the playplace), Target (without looking at one single toy) and Lowes (without having to stop to let a 3 year old ride on every single tractor in the store) from 2:00- 3:45. Cam home and starting painting what will hopefully eventually be flooring for outside (more on that later) from 3:45- 4:45.  Ate ice cream for dinner while watching Fuller House on Netflix (was it always so corny?).  Lastly, I just finished playing the piano for a bit without the Wii sound effects in the background.  And now, I sent reminiscing about it all.

I feel very relaxed... but goodness gracious, I sure do miss those boys.  When they are not here, it is really like a part of me is not here.

Since I am talking about a great day, I feel like I need to mention last Saturday/ weekend as well.  The boys and I (do Chad and I ever do anything together?!?!) went to my parents last weekend since Chad had a strength meet.  We had such a fun weekend just hanging out, we caught most of a Clemson baseball game and I loved it.  Hopefully spring soccer will allow us to escape to Clemson again to watch another one.
Even though we were outside the gate, the Tiger made a pit stop.  Why oh why does Shepherd do this in pictures?  I thought he had stopped this face!
For those in the Clemson area, Clemson baseball games are a lot of fun and if you wait until the top of the 5th, you get in for free.  Perfect amount of time for my boys to sit and watch.
While waiting on the 5th inning... getting some energy out by rolling down the hill
Selfie with adults and Beez.
So, thank you mom and dad for feeding us and loving on us last weekend.  Thank you to my in-laws for taking care of all my boys today.  And thanks Chad for coming up with one of your better ideas and giving me a free Saturday!

Now, hurry home!

My Valentines Day Boy

Happy 2nd Birthday Moses (and Isla)!!!
Sometimes you just luck out and get two incredible dogs.  Molly is hardly ever looking at the camera because she is deaf now and cant hear us hollering for her.  Bless her.
Pic of Isla from the last time she was at my house!

The "pups" are two.  We had such grand plans for the pups birthday, complete with a birthday party.  However, the birthday party had to be downsized because of the stomach bug that came over our house last weekend.
The birthday party invitations.
This just makes me laugh.  Ashton pretend punching Shepherd while Shepherd is doing who knows what.
Moses agreed that a sleepover with one of his best friends would be fun for his birthday this year.  So, Riggs spent the night last night and the boy dogs (and Molly) have had a great time.
The spend the night crew.
They had snacks, opened presents, celebrated Valentines Day, and played and played and played.
Moses "opening" his presents.  Between him and Riggs, the stuffing has already been ripped out of both of them.

Moses continues to be a high spot in our lives.  I cant even imagine not having him in our family.  He is my shadow and loves me beyond words (it really sounds like I am describing one of my kids.)

I hate that the party wasnt able to be exactly what I had in mind but these pups are celebrated everyday anyway- totally spoiled.
Getting a Mosie kiss.

Happy Birthday to two of the best doggie wogs.
wiped out from his birthday fun.

Also, Happy Valentines Day from this crew.
My Valentines--- minus Chad (Taking pic) and Molly (on the other side of Bennett).

It just hit me that I should have had one of the boys take a pic of Chad and me for V-Day... oops :)

H and B Stats

Still G-ville bound for doctor's appts (dont ask me why), Hunter, Bennett, and I headed down for their annual check ups.

Bennett was quite funny by insisting that "Hunter turn.  Hunter irst (first)" when it came to the finger prick.  The blood work came back great on both of them.  The doctor was very impressed with Bennett's cholesterol- I dont ever remember them checking cholesterol on the others).

Hunter 10 year old stats
Weight- 80 lbs (73%)
Height-  59.25" (96%)

Bennett 3 year old stats
Weight- 28 lbs (13%)
Height- 36.75" (34%)

- Weight was a bit down on both of them as the stomach bug had gone through our house this weekend.

Bennett's tininess still just makes me laugh.  He still has a little bit of a baby look about him which I love.

It was a crazy busy day as Chad had to head down to Easley that afternoon/ evening for a funeral of an old player.  Keep the Wyrick family in your prayers.  Suicide is a very real and horrifying reality and my heart hurts for the parents/ family/ and friends of Matthew.

Hug your kids tight and bathe them in prayer.
