Freshness

Holla!  Look at this fresh, new look on the blog.

In honor of Bennett's 18 month birthday tomorrow, I wanted to officially add him to the blog header... better late than never, right???   : /

Big thanks to my dear friend Olivia who updated the blog for me.  She does such a good job- all I had to do was send her the pics and she hooks me up!

Let me also give her a plug here... she has a craft blog and makes and sales some really cool things.
Check her stuff out here.

The Day in which I Show my Butt on the Internet

*** I debated for a couple days as to whether to post about my butt trauma.  Immediately after posting a couple days ago, I decided against it and just saved it in drafts... until a friend (Olivia) saw where it saved the title on her blog so I got caught "with my pants down".  In the words of The Brady Bunch....  So, here's a story...

Last Sunday, though we had already eaten out for lunch, time got away from me and I got lazy and ordered a pizza.

I quickly ran to Pizza Hut to pick it up.  On my way out of the door, pizza in hands, I turned around to push the door open with my butt.  I don't know how quickly I was moving or what kind of momentum I had, but I rammed into the deadbolt on the door.

It took everything I had not to scream out.  I bit my lip and casually kept walking, cussing under my breath all the way to the car.

Two days later- Tuesday

Two more days- Thursday

One week after the butt door push.- Sunday

Obviously, the quarter on my butt is to show how big this nasty bruise is.

Now these pictures don't show the knot that has formed under my skin.  Chad said this "monkey ball" would need to be rubbed out.  I told him, good try but no cheap feels for him.  However, I did have to admit to him that the knot was no smaller and he was probably going to have to rub it out for me.  TALK ABOUT UNCOMFORTABLE.... telling him he was right and then the satisfaction he got from inflicting pain on my butt.

No life lesson here besides watch out for deadbolts.

A Rainy Day Jump

The past two days have been much cooler than normal... and overcast.

However that did not keep us from tackling the pool.  Some friends invited us to go swimming and though it looked like rain was just around the corner, we suited up and went for it.

This past summer Hunter has become sooo much better in the water.  But, lets face it, he has half of his father's genes and he looks about as graceful in the water as his dad. haha...  Regardless, he didn't have any fear when hopping up on the diving board and swimming to the side.

Jay also discovered the slow motion on his phone... so just for grins.  You can go to the half way point to get to the "action".

Now don't even get me started on Ashton and Shepherd... they still flip a lid if their heads get wet (especially Ashton.)

Thanks for Jay for capturing this video of Hunter... it is a classic!  I wish I could have taken some pics but 6 kids between 2 adults = no pictures by me. :)

Family Pics

As I mentioned a couple posts back, we had professional pics taken over July 4 week.

Chad's mom scheduled and paid for a photographer to come to their yard to take pictures.  It had been soooo long since we had pictures done with something than other the timer on my Nikon so it was long overdue.

Full family.
Love this shot and this family.

Cousin picture
Ashton, Charlee, Sami, Bennett, Hunter, and Shepherd
Grandma and PapaHub with the grandkids... only missing little Joey :)
The original 4

Sweet shot of Bennett and Sami with PapaHub's chickens
Our family shot.  Love these men.

The 4!  Love these! Talk about seeing personalities in a picture.

The 2 group shots... it makes me a feel better that even a professional photographer could not get a great shot of these 4 goof balls together, but these are both cute.

An extra shot a dumb and dumber.
Cant wait to get these ordered an up the wall!!!

To Camp

Let's be honest... camping is not my favorite thing to do... nor is it Chads.  However, we gave Hunter a tent for his birthday last year and he has not been able to use it much.

My 3 youngest boys. :)

He really wanted to camp out tonight in the backyard and I said, "ok, as long as I don't have to sleep out there."

A boy and his dog.

So, we I set it up.

The 4.
Some bonus material... Here are just a couple of the dogs playing.  Moses just had his manhood sucked away this past Friday and he is doing great.  Molly has been a great influence on Moses... most of the time she is indifferent to him but she has been a great big sister.

Hunter, Ashton, and Shepherd all said they were going to camp.  Finally got them all tucked in around 9:30, prayed with them, threatened them to not talk and go to sleep, and left them.  Within, 10 minutes, they were all at the door complaining/ tattling on eachother.
Dumb and Dumber and Dumbest.... not necessarily in that order.
I tossed them back in the tent and sat at the "door" to the tent.  Shepherd was fidgety so I brought him back inside (I think my little inside child was glad to come in) and all is quiet.... at least for now.  We will see if they last all night... it is quite humid tonight but I don't think it bothers them like it would me.

Happy Camping.

A Staycation of Sorts

No beach in our summer plans this year... instead, we spent most of Chad's week off with his family.   PapaHub and Grandma kept us busy with professional family pictures, plenty of pool time, fishing, "rafting" down the creek, semi-camping, and plenty of good food.  The boys and I also met up with some friends for a play date and then I got to go shopping with my mom one evening.

The boys... and adults were quite worn out by the end of the week, but we had a really good time.

Here are some of the pictures from our trip.

Day 1- Wednesday

Grandma grabbed this shot behind the photographer's back... so excited to see the professional pics that were taken.

Sweet Ashton... nice shot Grandma.

The kids, especially Bennett, loved the chickens.

Trecker (spelling?) ride.  This always proves to be one of the favorite activities.

Day 2- Thursday

"Rafting" down the creek...

... and then s'mores

Day 3- Friday

4th of July
Fishing and lots of pool time and a fun family get together... my parents were even able to come.

Ashton caught his first fish

Aunt Sandee and Sam Sam

Charlee and Tommy

Diva status :)

Bennett loved the water... No Fear!

Ashton loved watching all the teenagers shoot basketball... Hunter hung out with the older kids... growing up

Uncle Tommy with the shot

Sandee and new niece, Joey, due in October/ November! :)

Thanks Papa Hub and Grandma for a great few days!  The boys are still talking about all the fun they had!
