4A Upper State Coach of the Year

... was my husband.  What an amazing year for football in our neck of the woods.  Chad, his coaches, and his players did an amazing job this year.  I am quite proud of all the he has accomplished since taking over this program 2 years ago.  He took a team that had only won 1 game in two years to a team that went 9-4 last year and then 11-2 this year.  The two losses this year came from the same team (who plays in the state championship game tomorrow).  Not bad!

Our school brought 13 people, including Chad's parents, some of his coaches, and a couple of the player's parents. The pics are not that great... I didnt want to stand up and get all professional like snapping pictures.  So have a sense of humor when looking at them.

One of Chad's coaches from his staff last year (Kyle) took a head coaching job at a smaller area high school. He had a great season and was named 2A Upper State Coach of the Year.

Chadlick, I know I dont tell you enough... but I am proud of you and all you do for your school and community.  Your players are very lucky to have you as their coach and I suppose you are a pretty good husband too ;)

Another Hat to Wear

I am now the toothfairy.  Hunter lost his first tooth at school today.  

He is so proud of the hole in his mouth.

I am bummed about two things though.

1- The teacher threw the tooth away!  THREW IT AWAY!  NOOOOOO!  I told Hunt that he will just have to write the tooth fairy a note.  

 Turns out his teacher did NOT throw it away, but put it in a little blue box and put it in his backpack.  I guess she didnt tell him the tooth was in the box and Hunter got confused and thought she threw it away. And because my mom kept them last night, I neglected to go through his backpack well.  

2- My mom is going to have be the tooth fairy tonight.  The boys are staying with mom and dad tonight as Chad gets awarded Upper State 4A Coach of the Year tonight.  

Hunter left his note at home, so he and mom decided the tooth fairy could wait until Friday night to deliver his surprise.

Shepherd's 2 year Stats

Well, you continue to be a tall one. 

Height- 37.25"  (99%) *** I dont think you are quite this tall though.. I have you measured at 36.5" when you are standing up, she measured you laying down***

Weight- 30.4 lbs (78%)

No shots - only a finger prick which didnt even phase you.  You didnt cry at all when the doctor looked at you.  You sucked on your blanket when he was listening to you breathe and then put your blanket over your head when he laid you on the table.  True to form- you were a goofball. 

The nurse gave you a sucker and 2 stickers so you were quite proud with yourself. 

Sleeping with the Big Boys and a Sneak Peak

As I mentioned yesterday, we bought bunk beds (that should arrive on Friday) with the hope that all 3 boys will soon be sharing a room.  The older two share, but we would love to throw Shep into the big boy room and use the 3rd bedroom as a playroom.  So this room is undergoing a pretty extensive makeover.

Two times in the past few weeks Shepherd has laid down with Hunter at night saying he wanted to sleep with him.  The first attempt ended in laughter and Shep back in his room in his crib.  The second time went much better and ended with the older two asleep and Shepherd just chilling in Hunter's bed.  I moved him to his room and crib though I am sure he would have fallen asleep.

Tonight was the 3rd attempt and looks like 3rd times a charm.  Here is Shepherd about 45 minutes after we put them to bed.

And here is Shepherd and Hunter about 1.5 hours after bedtime.  Looks like they are out... hopefully for the night.

So far, the painting is basically done and the bedding is new... more on the later though.

Thanksgiving Happenings

Shew, Thanksgiving and the weekend have just flown by.

I hate it when my posts wind up looking like an outline but I am tired and that is the easiest way to record it.

Thursday
Thanksgiving Day I went up to my parents house to help mom get things ready for lunch.  Thankfully, GrandmaDean and GrandpaGordie were going to be able to come as well as Uncle David and Aunt Christy.  My crew came up around 11 and we ate a delicious lunch.  GrandpaGordie looked great and we had a wonderful time. 
We, perhaps, started a new tradition.  Mom and I decided to make little centerpieces of cut flowers for the table.  We turned it into a competition.  Before we knew it, dad was outside making his arrangement.  We then coerced Nolan into making one.  We laughed so much over these flowers.  All the adults voted on their favorite.  There were definitely some differing opinions.

Kind of last minute, we decided that we were going to be able to make Chad's familys Thanksgiving dinner.  Though I didnt eat much, it was great to be able to just drive 40 minutes down the road and get to spend time with both families.

 I also want to thank my parents and my in-laws.  I am truly blessed and so thankful for you guys!

Friday
I ordered bunk beds for the boys room last week, so I wanted to at least get the room painted before the bunk beds come this week.  I painted Friday morning and because I didnt want the boys sleeping in paint fumes, invited myself and the boys to stay at my mom and dads house. 

The boys, again, decided that they were going to sleep in the tent with  Mantis.  Only difference... this time, they were going to sleep outside.  I think they are crazy, but they made it ALL NIGHT LONG in 40 degree weather.  Ashton told me that he didnt even have any dreams when he slept outside. 

Saturday
We left Saturday morning to meet up with Chad who spent the night with his parents because he and his dad went to a football game in NC.  Chad's dad heard that I wanted a real Christmas tree this year and offered to take me to a place where we could cut our own (and he offered to buy it :)   Anyone that knows Hub, knows that all his ideas somehow get bigger and bigger as time goes on.   The original plan was to go 20 minutes up the road to get a tree... it turned into lets go 45 minutes to a place that he likes to eat in NC and then go back and get the tree.  I am not complaining as it turned out to be a lot of fun.  The tree farm was amazing.  The view was beautiful and they had quite the selection of trees.

Saturday night we had a Sunday School social to watch the Clemson/ Carolina game.  Blah!  Horrible game but great company.

Sunday
Went to church and then Chad and I busted it to get up leaves, put up lights, and start decorating for Christmas. 

Shep took an almost 3 hour nap today (I had to wake him up), the other two went to bed at 7:30 and I am going to bed now.

This next month is going to be such a whirlwind, I already have something on almost every day of the week, but I cant wait.

Thanksgiving Program

Ashton goes to MMO/ K-3 two mornings a week.  His Thanksgiving program was Tuesday and followed by a lunch.  His class did a really good job... they were uh, nice and LOUD.  I actually couldnt understand much of what they said.  However, in comparison to the quiet classes before, it was a breath of fresh air.

Ashton's favorite "song" was The Thanksgiving Color Song. It was the last song they did and my memory card filled up before it was over, so I picked my next favorite.  I had him sing his favorite and will post that one later.
