Riggs Bit Marshall and Wepwerd

Took a stroll down memory lane via the blog a week or so ago.  I used to do a good job recording the boy's funny sayings and the memories.... haha.

I have a ton of recordings on my phone of Bennett but they never make it to the blog... which is a shame because we need a record of how hard to understand he is at 3.  Speech could definitely be in his future.

Bennett LOVES Paw Patrol...like L-O-V-E-S.  This last time we took care of Riggs, Riggs took Marshall and ate 3 of his legs off.  See below.
3 legged Marshall
Bennett immediately told Uncle Nolan that he (Nolan) had to be him (Bennett) a new one, which was followed up by a gruff "fank you" (at least it no longer sounds like "-uck you." The request was then for not only the figure but the fire truck the accompanies the figure (as we got the ambulance by mistake before).  Riggs has helped in the effort to declutter my home of toys (thank you Riggs), the boys normally forget about the destruction.... not this time.  Bennett has mentioned every single day for the last week and a half that Uncle Nolan has to buy him a new Marshall.  He even tells strangers this story.  Here is a recording of Bennett explaining what happened.

And just because I need a record of it, Bennett saying Shepherd's name.  Precious!  He loves his Wepwerd.

Bennett continues to be funny and soooo social... he has never met a stranger which is quite awkward for me (as I tend to stay to myself.)  He definitely forces me out of my bubble.
Just a pic I snapped at Chad's office.  Bennett is excited about everything.... even a coloring page print out.

Some Recent Funnys

Shepherd
Shepherd singing "10,000 Reason"  AKA- "Bless the Lord, Oh my Soul"

"Bless the Lord Oh my Sold, ohhhh my sold.  Worship whiz holy name.  Sing like never before, oh my sold.  worship whiz holy name.
The sun comes up, its a new day daunting.  Its time to sing a song again.  The waves gotten up and was arrested for you.
10000 days and my heart youll find."

Isnt that so sweet/ precious/ funny/ cute all rolled up into one?  I love it when he takes off singing it, which is quite often.

Unfortunately, I have had the dumb "Good Girl" by Robin Thicke in my head thanks to the whole Miley Cyrus thing.  I guess I have been singing it without paying attention to the words (don't worry, I don't even know the really bad parts... just the chorus).  Anyway, I have heard Shep singing, "youre a good girl, you know you want it.  You know you want it.  But youre a good girl."

Yep, that is a definite MOM FAIL!

Talk about a reality check for me.  Yikes!  Just shows that these little ones are truly paying attention to everything except when I tell them to pick up their capri sun/ gummy trash off the floor.

Lets stick with "worshipping Whiz Holy Name."
------------------------------------------------------------------
Hunter
- After seeing a picture of his new cousin on facebook, I asked if he knew who it was.  He said, "yes, it is Owen and Caeulum's sister."  I asked if he remembered her name.
He paused for  a few seconds and said, "uh, Alla Mae."  hahaha.
I think Miss Esme' has just received a nickname.... Alla Mae.
-  He cant say disgusting.  He says descusging.  Even when he tries to say it slowly after me, it always comes out wrong.
-  For awhile when Bennett first started solids, Hunter would always call avocoda, "addocado."  He even made up a song for Bennett about his "addocado."  I noticed yesterday that he says it the right way now.
-  When we went by the city fire department it had a sign that said, "Fire Dept."   To us, we automatically say department, Hunter said it like it was spelled.  I let it go a few times then I corrected him.... ok, I laughed and corrected him.
-  Coming back from school last week we pass Wells Fargo (which we have never been in), Hunter asks, "do we have to go into Wheels Fargo?"
------------------------------------------------------------------
Ashton
- No funny stories with Ashton.  He is in speech so some of his words just come out... wrong.  It seems wrong to laugh at someone in speech.  He did speech last year in "E."  He started at the new school last week. No big speech problems just some tongue placement issues.... and can be a little lispy with some words.  Easy fixes I am assured!
He is starting to hear the wrong way he says things and will give definitions on words he knows we don't understand... like thirty and forty (sound exactly the same) so he will describe.  It is precious.  I will kind of miss his little speech quirks when they are fixed.

You Know You are a Mom to Boys When...

1- ... while giving boy #3 a bath, boy #2 is in bathtub as well and asks me (Warning!  this may be a bit crass for some readers... just don't say I didn't warn you)

Boy 2- "did that happen when he fell down?"
Me- "did what happen?"
Boy 2- "those bumps"
Me- "What bumps?"
Boy 2- "those bumpy things right there."  he is pointing to... for lack of a better term to... boy #3's balls.
Me- "um, no, Shepherd hit his head. Plus, those are just the way balls look."
Boy 2- "Do mine look like that?"
Me- "why don't you take a look?"
Boy 2- standing up, looking down, "hmmm, yep, they do."
Me- "well that is a relief"

2- ... while in church, Boy 3, is slowly eating his doughnut and surprisingly doesn't finish it.  I look over to find this.... I am quite confident that 90% of boy moms know what this is.

If you guessed the Batman symbol then you are correct.  What is stranger than this you ask?  I find great pride that my 3 year old just created the Batman symbol out of a chocolate doughnut.  What is not strange however is that when he went to children's church, I ate it.

Speaking of Batman...

3-... you are in the car and you reach up to pull your sunglasses off your forehead and you realize this is the look that you are sporting.

Holy Batman!
This was fun... perhaps this needs to happen in monthly installments.  :)  The joys of having a house full of boys!

Ramblings and Resolutions

Ramblings
1- I am so glad to be back in our little routine.  The two weeks was great but I was lazy and need my structure!

2- The boys room is basically done.  I need to make some curtains and hang a couple other things and then I will reveal it!

3- Hunter has started asking me for another dog. The bad thing is that I really want one but they can be quite expensive.

4- Shepherd's grasp of the English language amazes me.  He speaks full sentences that even those that don't speak "toddler" can understand.

5- Shepherd has also started using the potty.  He is no where near potty trained, but he will pee on the potty if I ask him.  His reward is Smarties.

6- Ashton loves to watch football.  Chad is so excited to have 1) a football watching buddy and 2) an excuse to watch football.  Ashton always roots for the team that Chad is against.

7- I was about 10 minutes late picking Hunter up from school yesterday and he told me that he had been waiting on me for hours!

8- Ashton is so competitive!

9- Shepherd knows his colors really well now, but he will always come up and ask "what's this favorite color?"  He is just really wanting to know the name of the color but he throws "favorite" into the question.  Too cute!

Resolutions
1- I am NOT going to butcher my kids hair this year... which means, I will have a professional cut their hair especially Shepherds!  I don't do a bad job cutting/ shearing the older two, but I am ready for something different- unfortunately I just sheared them a couple nights ago and TOTALLY regret it with every ounce in me.

2- I will get off this remaining 6 lbs since I had Shepherd.  Blah!

3- I will do "home school" with Ashton three days a week.  I was awful about getting into a routine last year with his preschool work.  He goes to MMO 2 days a week but those other three days we really  need to do something at home.

4- I will start to memorize Bible verses... I have gotten quite rusty.

5- I am going to be more conscience about my computer time when the boys are awake.  It is so easy to sit down "real quick" to check something and then 40 minutes later...

6- I will reach (and go beyond) listing/ naming 1000 gifts/ Eucharisteo.

7- I am going to say "yes" to the boys more.
Ashton:  "Mommy, can I have a snack during quiet time?"  Me: "No."
Hunter- "Mommy, do you want to watch me play this game".   Me:  "uh, no, not right now."
Shep- "play with me?"  Me: "not right now"
Just say YES!

Truths for Mature Humans

I have become quite the pinterest junkie lately. I saw these 32 Truths for Mature Humans and thought they were pretty funny. Pinned here if you want to see the whole list. Half of them were things that I have actually thought before or that describe me to a "t."

1. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

2. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.

3. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

4. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

5. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work (or at home) when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

6. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

7. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this – ever.

8. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? **** it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?

***Mom #8 is for you!

9. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

***Yep. Hate this!

10. I wish Google Maps had an “Avoid Ghetto” routing option.

11. Sometimes, I’ll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

12. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

***haha, ask my Chad or my parents... this is soooo me!

13. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

***again, me!

14. How many times is it appropriate to say “What?” before you just nod and smile because you still didn’t hear or understand a word they said?

15. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

***yet again, me... except my shirts rarely get dirty either!

16. There’s no worse feeling than that millisecond you’re sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

17. Sometimes I’ll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
